Urban Cowboy

1980, John Travolta

This is another one of those movie classics I never got around to seeing. As it is I cannot tell you how it ended because after about 45 minutes I gave up on it. Possibly because what were considered normal things 30 years ago just don't fit anymore. Nice thing about Netflix is I don't have a lot of money tied up per viewing.

I LOVED "Urban Cowboy" and I watch it every time it comes on television. It's a classic boy-meets-girl-they-fall-in-love story, then they fight, then they separate, then they make up. But one probably would have had to have some sort of participatory contact with the world of the 70s to appreciate it.

LOL. I was in my twenties in the 70s so I think I qualify as having had participatory contact. :-) I meet John once and serviced his parents car on occasion. However I, and the group I ran with, were into motorcycles and rock which is a whole different scene than the movie. And I probably have changed my outlook on life since that time too. And maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind that evening to watch it?
